Teaching
At VNIT Nagpur, I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mathematics, ranging from foundational engineering mathematics to advanced courses in analysis and differential equations. My teaching aims to develop conceptual clarity, problem-solving ability, and an appreciation for the role of mathematics in analysis, modelling, computation, and applications.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching is guided by the belief that mathematics should be understood through structure, meaning, and necessity, not merely through memorization of formulas or procedures. I try to help students ask why a mathematical object behaves the way it does, what structure determines it, and which properties follow naturally from that structure.
In many parts of mathematics, objects that first appear as formulas become clearer when they are viewed through the equations, principles, or structural conditions that characterize them. This perspective helps students see that many familiar properties are not isolated tricks or magical coincidences, but consequences of deeper mathematical organization.
In the present era of computational tools and artificial intelligence, routine calculation and standard problem-solving are becoming increasingly accessible. This makes conceptual understanding even more important. I believe that mathematics education should train students not only to obtain answers, but also to understand the origin of a question, the structure behind a method, the meaning of a solution, and the limitations of any computational output.
Across my courses, I encourage students to move from examples to definitions, from computation to concepts, and from local calculations to global structure. My aim is to help students develop both technical skill and conceptual vision: the ability to solve problems, but also to see why the mathematics is arranged the way it is.
